Here's my 68 Mercury Montego Engine, 302 V8:
And what it would look like if I had the available Boss 429 engine:
Update, new KINJA builder sucks, downloaded the image and uploaded myself.

Now show me what it would look like with a Hi-Po 302 or a Trinity.

Did it originally have a 302? I would think it had a 351 but maybe those were not avail in your year.

Original 302. available engines from what I've learned, there are some conflicting sources on this.
I6
302 2 brrl
302 4 brrl
390 2 brrl
390 4 brrl
427
428 (couple variations)
I've heard about a 351 being available but I got nothing to back it up.
I have the original window sticker that confirms it's a 302 2 barrel car.
Now it's a 4 barrel thanks to be though lol.

HAHA. It's unbelievable how much better a simple carb swap from 2bbl to 4bbl is.
I had a chev 350 in a cutlass with a 2bbl that I swapped in a 4bbl for, It was like a totally diff car. Yay for 1 line burnouts lol.

Man, what an upgrade. I swapped in an Edlebrock Performer RPM intake (the performer RPM cranks the rpm up a bit higher) and added the 4 barrel holley.
WOW.
Then I threw on the true dual flowmaster super 44s.
UNBELIEVABLE.
You wouldn't even know it was the same engine.

Yea, small changes in the right areas make huge differences.

I've shared it with too many to keep track, have you heard the exhaust video?
it sounds so great, a lot of people can't even tell I have a little 5.0 under the hood due to the exhaust note.

BRAVO!

Haha, thank you very much! I'm so happy with my choice, I was really on the fence between the Super 40 and Super 44's. They sound so great. Eventually I may add some headers. When I had it done the mechanic had a set he thought would work, but my lame column shift linkage was in the way so no free headers for me.
Could you imagine it with some nice headers?

No, but you be sure to give us some audio when you get them.

When/if I get them I will definitely provide an "encore" performance lol.
I'm more focused on cleaning it up under the hood, getting the floors fixed, carpet and headliner now that it's running the way I want.
